A guided tour of the curious ruins and the ancient fortress.
Based on mostly unpublished documents, the exhibition invites visitors to discover the fortress through first-hand accounts of this historic monument, which was acquired by the Département in 1839.
Which monument was visited at the time? Who visited it? Who visited it? From the caretaker to the visitors, through the evolution of the entrance ticket and the rules governing visits, the exhibition offers a glimpse of what it was like to visit the monument in the 19th century.
