Leave from Villepail church (car park and toilets nearby) and head towards Crennes-sur-Fraubée. At the first crossroads, follow the D240, then after 50m, take a small track on the left through undergrowth. After a steep climb, the route joins a ridge path (an old Roman road) which you take on the left. You pass the Signal de Pail, a recorded summit marked by an IGN granite marker (356m). The path then descends to the foot of the Corniche. Take a short diversions to see the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours. The route continues along a shady, damp track, then turns onto more open farm tracks, offering some very fine views. The route ends on a pretty sunken track and a final climb that leads suddenly into the village.
A PR approved by the Comité départemental de la randonnée pédestre is a recognised quality route (varied landscapes, limited tarmac and presence of natural or historical curiosities) that meets the following conditions
