Take time to discover Craon, an ancient fortified town whose architectural treasures span more than five centuries of history.
Craon is renowned for its horse racing, but also deserves a special place for its heritage, which spans more than 2 millennia of history. Stroll through the streets of the old town centre and discover the timber-framed houses. They will lead you straight to the Halles, built in 1850, the town centre's landmark. Stroll along the banks of the river Oudon, a romantic setting, and stop off at the Pré de la Liberté wash-house, the largest in the whole of Mayenne. Discover the works of various artists at the Maison Bleue or relax on the banks of the Mûrier lake.
The town is in the process of being awarded the "Petite Cité de Caractère" label.
> Guided tour of the old town centre every Wednesday at 10am in July and August (or on request for groups).
