A Renaissance masterpiece
At the end of the Middle Ages, the suburb of Pont-de-Mayenne developed on the left bank. The distance from their place of worship prompted wealthy canvas merchants to build a new building closer to home.
Lord Guy XV laid the first stone in 1485. The lower sections of the portal still bear witness to the flamboyant Gothic style of the late 15th century.
