Spending a night or a few days on a campsite means above all being aware of our values when it comes to managing our natural spaces. Here, we're a long way from tarmac or gravel paths, compact hedges and squared-off pitches. We're making a little space for ourselves by preserving biodiversity as far as possible. Here, you can enjoy a peaceful pitch, surrounded by grasses and wild flowers, picking blackberries in the brambles, surrounded by birdsong and field crickets.
We'll be delighted to talk to you about the three main themes of our place, such as anything and everything, to show you around our humble permaculture vegetable garden and introduce you to the site's activities. We also offer a variety of workshops (crafts or discovering Japan) and the possibility of having a Japanese breakfast on site (see below).
The setting
The grounds are surrounded by trees and hedges, bordered by a very small road crossed only by the neighbours or the tractors of neighbouring farmers. It's not unusual to have days when only 2/3 vehicles pass through. It's very quiet at night, and the only sounds you'll hear are those of crickets and birds. The countryside around us is very pleasant, with views over rolling countryside.
The pitches
We have 5 pitches of varying sizes, 2 of which are accessible by camper van, van/truck or caravan. The terrain is flat in most places.
There is little shade during the day, but there is in the morning and from late afternoon onwards.
If you are travelling by car, there is a car park on the site and you can walk to your pitch. Cyclists and hikers are also very welcome!
The facilities
You will have access to a dry toilet shed on the campsite, and if necessary, we also have traditional toilets in the house.
A bathroom with bath and washbasin is also available in the house, accessible via a separate entrance.
Just below the campsite, a room with a sink for washing up, a washing machine, a hob, a fridge and electric sockets is open to you. Here you can cook, leave food in the fridge and charge your phone or other device without worry.
A washing machine is available for €2 per machine. There is an additional charge of €3 per day for access to the fridge and hob. Sockets for recharging your electronic devices are freely available.
The activities
As this is above all a place of culture, during your stay you can also take advantage of à la carte workshops on discovering Japan (culinary workshops, learning how to wear a kimono, Japanese language and calligraphy...) or workshops on crafts and processing local materials (introduction to working with wool from the fleece, vegetable dyeing...). If you're interested in any of these workshops, please get in touch to find out more!
