Glass, the way to a new world!
My name is Véronique Meslay, and I started my professional career with a beautician's CAP, then went on to work as a multi-skilled employee at Sodexho, before retraining as an administrative secretary and then as an accounting assistant.

Following health problems, I took a two-year break to find myself again. I experimented with meditation and qi gong. At the end of those two years, I decided to get some help to discover what was driving me and to give a real boost to my professional life. This support enabled me to rediscover my desire to create, by working with glass.

I did a lot of research in this area, exchanging ideas and meeting professionals, glassblowers and, in particular, artistic pearl-makers.

Every day I learn new techniques from tutorials and books. Above all, I experiment to give free rein to my inspiration and my desire to share. In this way I perfect a skill that is new to me.

Alongside this activity, I offer individual and group sound treatments using crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, drums and tuning forks. What my two activities have in common is the silica that makes up my chopsticks, the crystal bowls and our cells. Sonotherapy brings unbalanced areas of the body back to their natural frequencies. I work with the person who will be wearing the beads in mind, even if I don't know them. I put a positive and luminous intention into my creations, so that they bring you joy and well-being.

With my creations, I hope to share and exchange beautiful feelings and sensations with people who are sensitive to beauty, colours and materials. At your request, I can organise meetings in my workshop to show you how a pearl is made.

I love transforming the material and seeing it take shape by mixing transparency with the opacity of glass to create a world within the pearl.

To mount my glass bead creations, I use hand-dyed silk cord and ribbon. I find that the different colours of the silk enhance the pearl. The result is a piece of jewellery that is creative, elegant and fashionable. I use Habotai silk cord because it's a top-of-the-range silk that's light and soft, pleasant and comfortable to wear. Habotai silk, which is often described as a second skin, absorbs up to 50% of moisture without feeling uncomfortable. The cord is hand-dyed using environmentally-friendly dyes and is pre-washed, so that the colours do not fade.
The first advantage of stainless steel jewellery is the unalterable, indestructible, unchanging quality of its alloy. Thanks to its composition, with over 10.5% chromium, this type of steel is rustproof. In fact, it never rusts. This is jewellery that lasts over time. For all these reasons, I decided to wear steel jewellery.

You have sensitive skin. You tend to react to silver, gold or costume jewellery. The absence of nickel and its particular material do not cause reactions (except in very rare cases).

Stainless steel has the advantage of being hypoallergenic, which is why I use it for chains and primers.

I also make necklaces and bracelets using dyed leather cords. This allows me to choose the length of the jewellery supports for those who don't like steel or silk. The clasps are made of stainless steel for the hypoallergenic aspect. I try to find holders for my jewellery and accessories that suit everyone.
