Just outside Lassay-les-Châteaux, the Château du Bois Thibault has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1925.
It was built on an ancient feudal castle that disappeared after the Hundred Years' War and rests on a motte castrale.
This castle was home to many families, including the famous poet Joachim Du Bellay.
The Château de Bois Thibault is open at weekends from 3pm to 6pm, from the end of May until the Heritage Days weekend. Visits are free or can be guided by members of the Lassay Cultural Association.
