The Notre Dame de Pritz chapel contains remains of masonry dating back to the Carolingian era. Inside, it houses a remarkable collection of wall paintings dating from the 11th to 15th centuries.
Built on the site of an early medieval cemetery, it was entrusted to the monks of the Couture du Mans abbey in the early 11th century, and became Laval's first parish church.
The paintings, most of which are Romanesque and date from the 11th to 13th centuries, adorn the walls of the nave and the apses of the choir and transept.
The intrados and vault of the choir depict agricultural work in the form of a calendar of months, as well as the elders of the Apocalypse.
