Discover the history of Chailland as you wander through the streets... Behind the neo-Gothic church with its historiated stained glass windows, there is a path leading to the Rocher de la Vierge, which is lit up at night, to the rose garden that perfumes the area from May to October, to the terraced gardens of the former Presbytery, and then to the Gigoulais chapel overlooking the village. Some of the old houses (those of Le Roquet, de Villeneuve, l'Ouvroir, la Bourgeoiserie) are well worth a visit, as is the Lavoir du Moulin. Heading towards the Forêt de Mayenne, the tourist route leads to the old Forges on the River Ernée, the workers' housing listed as a Historic Monument, the old Pont de la Fenderie spanning the River Ernée and the Château de la Forge.
