The Church of the Trinity was built on the outskirts of the castle in 1070 by the monks of Couture du Mans.
The building underwent extensive alterations over the centuries, and was not elevated to cathedral status until 1855.
As a result, its architecture is fairly composite (Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, etc.).
