Each year, the art centre welcomes two artists in residence, who create new works to be shown in the spring exhibition.
Cuprien Desrez
Hitchhiking, virtual journeys on the internet, gastronomic journeys, literary journeys... at the heart of Cyprien Desrez's practice: travel. Observing, waiting, meeting, telling stories: his cheerful papier-mâché installations are inspired by his travels. Hosted at the art centre in autumn 2022 for the group exhibition Vous êtes ici, the artist returns with a monumental installation devoted to the estuary route, the A84 motorway.
Bérénice Nouvel
Bérénice Nouvel's artistic practice involves a subtle interplay of visual illusions, deliberately destabilising the viewer's perception. [...] She explores the relationship between the false and the real, between the object and the image. Using trompe-l'oeil, Bérénice Nouvel draws on fictitious motifs that conjure up a variety of worlds, from crafts to popular culture and theatrical décor.*
