A new course, on a remarkable natural site, gives pride of place to the species that occur naturally on the small rivers of the plains. Chub, pike, perch and fario trout await you for a sporting encounter in an unforgettable setting.
Situated in the communes of Saulges, Saint Pierre sur Erve and Thorigné en Charnie, on the river Erve and in the middle of a Natura 2000 site, the 700m course, classified as 2nd category piscicultural, offers a profile of riffles, running flats and slow flats. Accessible from both banks, between the "Moulin de la Rochebrault" upstream and the Japanese steps downstream, you can track a wide variety of fish species using artificial lures or flies in an extremely well-preserved natural setting.
The site has a bar-restaurant, picnic area and toilets.
For those accompanying you, the Vallée des Grottes de Saulges has many facets to discover, making it an ideal place to plan a day out with family or friends.
Nestling in the Mayenne countryside, between the 2 Petites Cités de Caractère of Saulges and Saint-Pierre-sur-Erve (both well worth a visit), this valley is carved out around the river Erve. Between the limestone walls, the area offers a wealth of opportunities for discovery. Unique in the west of France for its many caves, the Erve is home to 2 caves open to the general public, and the Musée de Préhistoire is a great place to learn more about prehistoric life. But it's also an exceptional nature and walking area: you'll be amazed by the cliffs, open to climbing enthusiasts, and seduced by the green natural environment, particularly the boxwood forests.
