If you'd like to discover the small village of Saulges and its Natura 2000 listed site with its prehistoric caves, come and stay with Carole and Laurent, either on your own or with your family. 2 guest rooms with a separate kitchen and essential services to extend your stay.
In the heart of the village, close to the 2 churches and l'Ermitage gourmet restaurant.
Take a stroll along the footpaths (PR and GR) that lead you through the Erve valley and to the caves for an immersion in prehistory and geology. The Museum of Prehistory, with its modern scenography, is a must-see for its collections and its many workshops and activities for adults and children (follow the programme). You can also enjoy a snack or meal at the Taverne des grottes, on the banks of the river.
The Erve has carved out a canyon, accentuating the gradients: valley, hillsides, Japanese steps, fields grazed by Ouessan sheep, others by Aurochs (ancestors of our domestic cattle).
This is a FFME-certified climbing site with beginners' and advanced climbing areas. In place since 1988, the equipment (rings or fast links at the top of the routes, sealed spindles) allows climbing on more than 160 routes from 10m to 25m high.
In summer, Saulges offers a natural swimming pool.
