Saint Denis d'Anjou is a small village classified as a "Petite Cité de Caractère". We invite you to discover the village's architectural and natural heritage.
Welcome to Saint Denis d'Anjou, a commune of 1,510 inhabitants located in the south-east of the Mayenne département, in the Pays de la Loire region. The commune borders two other departments, Maine-et-Loire and Sarthe. Just 2 hours from Paris, the medieval village of Saint Denis d'Anjou is distinguished by its designation as a Petite Cité de Caractère, one of seven in the Mayenne. It is also a village with three listed bell towers. The village also includes Varennes-Bourreau, on the banks of the Sarthe, and Saint Martin de Villenglose, on the road to Angers. In 1813, the parishes of Varennes-Bourreau and St Martin de Villenglose were attached to St Denis d'Anjou, which is why we refer to St Denis d'Anjou as a village with three bell towers. The churches in these three villages are listed as Historic Monuments. St Denis d'Anjou is also twinned with Buxheim in Bavaria.
