Like every year, Viaulnay is opening its doors for the Heritage Days. With family or friends, we will be delighted to welcome you and show you the progress of the restoration.
The manor house and chapel form a beautiful ensemble. Their position, open to a wide open horizon, is a great attraction for visitors.
When you visit the listed building, you'll be able to find out why François Mauguy had the ND de Pitié chapel built in 1560 and decorated it lavishly, and how the interior paintings were seen in Paris, Asia and America in the early 20th century.
You can also discover the astonishing life of Mother Elisabeth de la Trinité, who lived at the Viaulnay manor house during her youth in the early 17th century.
Finally, a presentation of some of the 36 painted panels will immerse you in holy history.
The very recent restoration (2024) of the Pietà in limestone and polychrome will also certainly be of interest. The sculpted group features the Virgin Mary, the dead Jesus and Saint Mary Magdalene myrophora. This pietà is listed as a historic monument and is in the process of being classified.
