A break in the countryside, small gîte near Mayenne, La Roche Neuville, Château-Gontier

The small gîte at La Prée du Roc is ideal for a couple, with or without children. The house is large, comfortable and very well equipped. Just 600 metres from the Vélo Francette towpath (Ouistréam / la Rochelle), you can reach Château-Gontier (8.7km), the restaurant at l'Ecluse de Neuville (950m), in season, or even Laval (25km).
Local shops 4.7km away, and more in Château-Gontier, 8km away.
For your outings, the town of Château-Gontier offers a trail through the town and its gardens, museums, aquatic centre with wellness area, marina with boat hire, bicycles (electric and muscle bikes, trailers), kayak and paddle. Don't miss the Refuge de l'arche, a wildlife park specialising in taking in exotic wild animals that have been damaged by life (abandoned or injured): discover a thousand stories.

Almost every major period in history is illustrated in Mayenne.
For sports enthusiasts, there's the accrobranche de l'Orbière, and 2 trail stations in the Pays de Laval and the Coëvrons offering perfectly signposted circuits for trail running, gravelling or simply hiking, with routes ranging from 7 to 53 km (On Piste application).
