Join us on 12 October for the Fête de la Science 2025
Intelligence(s) - national theme 2025.
But what is intelligence, and are we humans the only intelligent beings?
In the age of artificial intelligence, let's take a moment to explore the question. Can we count, create, solve problems, tell stories or use tools?
An overview of human and animal intelligence through the ages, from prehistory to the present day.
Through various workshops, let's go back to the origins of humanity to understand what makes 'our' intelligence.
As it does every year, L'Étinbulle is seeking to tie in with the national theme of "Intelligences". It is this history that the association proposes to explore.
It's just one step from idea to tool?
Participatory workshop for children aged 8 and over
Painting by firelight: the origins of abstract thought.
Participatory workshop from 5 years upwards
Intelligence(s), the hallmark of mankind? - Expanding your horizons: café-chercheur
An informal meeting with Nicolas Loménie, a teacher-researcher at Paris Descartes, to discuss artificial intelligence and computer vision. Far from prehistory, let's compare and contrast our points of view to broaden our horizons. Open to all, aged 12 and over.
Philo Talk: "What is intelligence?
Accompanied by the cercle "des Causeurs du 2-4", café-philo to define intelligence(ies). Open to adults.
But what is intelligence and are we humans the only intelligent beings?
Open to all.
Intelligence and problem-solving: the riddle stand
A gym for all brains! Participants work independently to solve a variety of puzzles using different forms of intelligence: visual-spatial, naturalist, logical-mathematical and linguistic.
Practical info
Free admission. Workshops and demonstrations for the general public
From 11 am to 6 pm - Sunday 05 October 2025
For its 34th edition, the Fête de la Science is exploring Intelligences.
Once again this year, the Fête de la science will be celebrating the sharing of science, from 3 to 13 October 2025 in mainland France. Intelligences, a subject at the heart of current affairs, will be honoured in all their diversity.
The Fête de la science 2025 will invite researchers and the general public to ask questions about a world as vast as it is fragile.
Since 1991, the Fête de la science has been a free, popular event celebrating science, technology and innovation throughout France. It is open to everyone and helps to promote the sharing of knowledge between scientists and the general public.
Organised every year by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Fête de la science has become a not-to-be-missed event for everyone. For ten days or so, families, schoolchildren, students, science lovers and enthusiasts will be able to exchange ideas at thousands of free events across France.
