Discover the Bertrand and Robert Laigneau exhibition
From 3 to 28 June 2025, Crédit Mutuel's head office in Laval will be hosting an exhibition bringing together two cousins, sculptor Bertrand Laigneau and painter Robert Laigneau. This exhibition highlights their distinct but complementary artistic practices, offering a great opportunity to discover works where nature and emotion are at the heart of the creation.
Bertrand Laigneau, a self-taught sculptor, explored various materials such as clay, plaster moulding and stone, before specialising in woodwork. For over 30 years, he has been exploring roots and other pieces of wood tortured by nature to create expressive sculptures. Inspired by myths and natural forms, he transforms these raw materials into works in which each piece tells a story. His sensitive work has been exhibited in numerous public and private venues. Bertrand seeks to capture the essence of matter and convey deep emotions through his creations.
Robert Laigneau is a self-taught painter with a passion for nature and landscapes. He captures the light and textures of Mayenne and Brittany in watercolour and dry pastel. His works, often done outdoors, are an invitation to contemplation, where the beauty of the natural world is brought to light. A member of the Couleur de Bretagne association, Robert regularly takes part in regional competitions, where his work has won prizes.
