This Romanesque church was rebuilt in 1875 to the designs of an Irish architect, Hawke, which explains the honeycombed bell tower and Celtic crosses.
It was also in the 19th century that the church square was redeveloped: the cemetery surrounding the old Romanesque church was moved to the outskirts of the village. Gravestones can still be seen in the square along an avenue lined with lime trees, as well as under the 18th-century baptismal font inside the church.
