The Convent of the Visitation is the fruit of several centuries of history, which have seen two successive religious congregations: one male, the Capuchins, from the 17th century until the end of the 18th century; then another female, the Visitandines, until the end of the 20th century.
Today, the buildings belong to the town of Mayenne, and are used as an association centre. The last sisters left in 1998.
