This summer, the Chapelle des Calvairiennes in Mayenne is hosting "Visiteurs Internationaux", an exceptional exhibition of works from local private collections.
This event showcases contemporary artists of international renown, offering a rich and varied overview of current artistic creation.
The exhibition is organised in collaboration with the Centre d'art contemporain - Le Kiosque, Château du Fresne, Gijs Stork and Angelo Tromp.
Artists on show :
- Navid Nuur (Iran / Netherlands)
Navid Nuur is a conceptual artist whose work explores immaterial phenomena such as light and energy. His works question perception and sensory experience.
- Samuel Sarmiento (Venezuela / Aruba)
A self-taught artist, he uses ceramics and drawing to explore Caribbean oral traditions, tackling themes such as identity, migration and collective memory.
- Mako Lomadze (Georgia)
An emerging artist, Lomadze's practice focuses on immersive installations, exploring the links between culture, history and sensory perception.
- Geke Lensink (Netherlands)
A designer and artist, she creates objects that combine minimalist aesthetics and functionality. Inspired by her travels and craft traditions, she creates unique pieces.
To complement these major works, a selection of smaller pieces will be presented in a 'Salon'-style display, offering visitors an intimate and eclectic experience of the contemporary art scene. These include works by Michel François and Ann Veronica Janssens.
The exhibition is supported by local private collectors and aims to encourage intercultural dialogue through contemporary art.
